One of the most common things that you don’t do regularly is backup your important data. Data on your computer that could be important can include: family photos, work documents, study or school documents, music and lots more. If your computer does ever have a problem or crashes this can present you with a big problem if you haven’t been doing a regular backup of your important data.
Doing a backup is easy in most cases, you can use a variety of different methods. With the falling cost of larger and larger usb devices you can pick up a 16gb usb stick for less than $30 at a few different retaillers sometimes even cheaper. External usb hard drives come in larger sizes with the current minimum being about 250gb. These external hard drives you can pick up and easily get change from $100.00 depending on the size and type of external usb drive you go for.
The main thing to remember is have a routine where you know which data is most important to you and regularly remember to back it up onto the media you have access to. This way a computer technician’s job can be a lot easier to restore data for you onto a new computer or you can simply plug your external hard drive or usb stick into another computer and access your data straight away.
